 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  FCT Police Deny Sealing PDP Secretariat Amid Tensions Over Blocked Meetings


The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims that it sealed off the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, on Monday, amid allegations of police interference in the party’s scheduled meetings.


Ibrahim Tsauri, a PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) member and former National Secretary, told journalists that police operatives barred BoT members from accessing the party’s Wadata Plaza secretariat, where a meeting was set to take place. Tsauri claimed the police cited “orders from above” and prohibited any meetings on the premises, escalating tensions ahead of the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.


However, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, dismissed the allegations in a statement, describing them as “false, misleading, and not reflective of the true situation on ground.” Adeh clarified that police were deployed to the area solely to maintain law and order, in line with their constitutional duty to ensure public safety. “At no time was the secretariat sealed off by the police,” she stated.


The Commissioner of Police, FCT, urged media outlets to verify information through the command’s public relations office before reporting. The incident has heightened political friction, with the PDP accusing authorities of obstructing its activities as it prepares for critical internal deliberations.
