 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  LAWYERS ALLEGE R. KELLY OVERDOSED, MURDER PLOT


Following an incident in which R&B superstar R. Kelly was hospitalized for two days, his lawyers alleged prison officials gave him an overdose of his medications and plotted to get him cancelled by an inmate.


Kelly's legal team alleged that prison officials placed the singer in solitary confinement before giving him an overdose of his sleep and anxiety medications on June 12, 2025.


"He started to see black spots in his vision," his team said. "Mr. Kelly tried to get up, but fell to the ground. He crawled to the door of the cell and lost consciousness."


Correctional medical staff rushed the 58-year-old by ambulance to Duke University Hospital when they could not help him, but he was allegedly evacuated after two days of treatment against medical advice - and returned to jail.


Robert Kelly is serving a 30-year sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking since 2022. He is serving his sentence in the Federal Correctional Institute facility in Butner, North Carolina.
