 TROOPS APPREHEND SUSPECTED TERRORIST COLLABORATORS, FAMILY OF ISWAP FINANCE CHIEF SURRENDERS, RECOVER LOGISTICS ITEMS Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to sustain pressure on  terrorists through series of intelligence-led operations that resulted in the arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators, the surrender of the family members of a senior ISWAP commander, and the recovery of terrorist logistics items. In one of the operations conducted on 27 July 2026, troops of 5 Brigade arrested six ISWAP collaborators in Damasak, Borno State. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly generating funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle at designated markets in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango. Items recovered from the suspects included one Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones of different brands, cow meat and the sum of ₦317,950.00. RENÉE VICTOR, THE TALENTED ACTRESS WHO BROUGHT DISNEY'S ABUELITA TO LIFE IN THE BELOVED ANIMATED FILM "COCO",DIES AT THE AGE OF 86.(PHOTO).

 It's with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Renée Victor, the talented actress who brought Disney's Abuelita to life in the beloved animated film "Coco." Victor died Friday evening at her Sherman Oaks home, surrounded by family, after battling lymphoma. She was 86.


Born in San Antonio and later moving to Los Angeles in the 1960s, Renée began her entertainment career as a singer with prominent Latin big bands, working alongside legends like Xavier Cugat and Perez Prado. Her transition to acting in the mid-1980s led to memorable roles in "Matlock," "The Addams Family," and notably as Lupita in Showtime's "Weeds."


However, it was her role as the fierce, loving grandmother in 2017's "Coco" that cemented her legacy. The film, which respectfully celebrated Mexican culture and Día de Muertos, became a box office sensation and won two Academy Awards, including Best Animated Feature. Victor's authentic portrayal of Abuelita resonated with audiences worldwide, making her voice synonymous with unconditional family love.


Her daughters' statement beautifully captures her impact: "Renee was loved by so many & had fans all over the world. Those who knew her will always cherish her memory."
