Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen step out in coordinated black looks for New York stroll Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance in New York City, stepping out together for a relaxed afternoon in matching, understated fashion. The 39-year-old twins were seen walking through Midtown Manhattan on April 30, dressed in coordinated black trench coats paired with wide-leg denim. They completed the look with sunglasses, scarves, and structured alligator handbags from their luxury label, The Row, before stopping for lunch during their outing. Long before becoming fashion insiders, the sisters built global recognition as child actors through projects like Full House, It Takes Two, and New York Minute. Over time, they stepped away from Hollywood and fully transitioned into fashion, officially launching The Row in 2005. Mary-Kate now serves as creative director of the brand, while Ashley oversees it as CEO. In earlier interviews, Ashley has described the label’s beginnings as a small ex...

UK-Based Nigerian Carer Sentenced for Abusing Elderly Dementia Patient Days Before His Death

A Nigerian carer, Bilikesu Olagunju, has been sentenced after being caught on camera violently abusing an 88-year-old dementia patient, John Attard, just days before his death. The incident occurred on Christmas Eve 2022 at the victim’s home in Bexley, Kent, as reported by Mail Online.

Olagunju, employed by Unique Personnel UK and only six days into her role as a care worker, was filmed stripping Mr. Attard, threatening to beat him, and ignoring his cries of pain. In the footage, captured by a camera installed by the victim’s son, Chris Attard, Olagunju is heard saying, “Maybe I will beat you up. I will flog you. I will take you to the GP to get injections. I will call the police on you.” She was also seen pouring marmalade into Mr. Attard’s coffee, despite knowing he was diabetic, and dragging him by his arm and collar, causing visible distress.

The following morning, Christmas Day 2022, Mr. Attard was found unresponsive with blood running down his face. He was rushed to hospital and passed away ten days later without regaining consciousness. A post-mortem examination could not conclusively link Olagunju’s actions to his death.

Olagunju pleaded guilty to one count of ill-treatment or willful neglect of a person lacking mental capacity at Woolwich Crown Court in southeast London. She was sentenced to six weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to complete 50 hours of unpaid work.

Chris Attard, the victim’s son, called the sentence “an insult,” expressing frustration that the punishment did not reflect the severity of the abuse. “If those cameras had not been there, that person could still be out there treating elderly people like this,” he said. “I was expecting a suspended sentence, but the length and community service aspect is an insult. What kind of a deterrent is that?”

The case has raised concerns about the oversight of care workers and the protection of vulnerable individuals in the UK care system.
