 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. A BELOVED HORSE FOLLOWED THE HEARSE CARRYING AN 8-YEAR-OLD VICTIM OF THE TEXAS FLOODS.(PHOTOS).

 A beloved horse followed the hearse carrying an 8-year-old victim of the Texas Floods.


In a sweet and heartbreaking tribute to Virginia Hollis, her grandfather led her horse, 'Salt Valley', behind the hearse during her funeral procession on Wednesday, July 16th.


Virginia was one of the 27 people from Camp Mystic who lost their lives in the July 4th floods. It was several painful days before authorities were able to locate and recover Virginia.


Her funeral was held in Bellville, Texas on Wednesday. Residents lined the streets to show respect for the young girl taken away much too soon. 


Virginia's parents say she was a little cowgirl who loved the rodeo. It only seems fitting that her horse be present as she was laid to rest. 


Our thoughts are with the family of Virginia Hollis and all the families picking up the pieces after that devastating day.
