 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. A yet-to-be-identified electricity vandal has met his waterloo in Ezillo, Ebonyi State, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said.


TCN said the vandal was electrocuted while trying to tamper with Tower 34 along the Nkalagu-Abakaliki 132kV transmission line.


According to the transmission company, security operatives informed the TCN about the incident on July 19, 2025.


It was also gathered that the accomplices to the crimes fled the location when their effort to vandalise the property went awry.


In a photo post made on X on Thursday, July 24, the TCN said, “Vandal electrocuted at Ezillo, Ebonyi State, while attempting to tamper with Tower 34 along the Nkalagu-Abakaliki 132kV transmission line.


“Security operatives informed TCN on July 19, 2025, that the accomplices fled after the incident,” the TCN wrote on X.


Vandals have continued to rake havoc on various electricity property across the nation.


In the northern part of the nation, bandits have also been known to vandalise electricity property in the region leaving residents in total blackout.
