 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.  ANAMBRA POLICE CONTINUES TO LEVERAGE ON THE VIGILANCE AND TIMELY/NECESSARY INFORMATION OF NDI ANAMBRA: RECOVERS AN ABANDONED AK-47 RIFLE FROM A ROOF IN AN APARTMENT AT IGBOUKWU, AGUATA LGA


The Anambra State Police Command leveraging on necessary information from the good indigenes of the State today 11th July 2025 by 12:30pm recovered an abandoned AK-47 rifle in a residential apartment under renovation at Ihuowele Ngo Village, Igboukwu, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.


Preliminary investigation revealed that a certain man known as Samson, allegedly identified as a notorious individual and the former occupant of the apartment, may be connected to the weapon. Samson has not been seen in the area since June 2024, and efforts are currently ongoing to track and apprehend him.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD has commended the vigilance of the community members and reiterated the importance of Community-Police collaboration. He urged Ndi Anambra to continue to provide timely and actionable information that would aid the Police in delivering on its Mandate of Protecting Lives and Property.
