Michael Madsen passed away early Thursday at his Malibu home due to cardiac arrest, bringing an end to a storied career defined by his powerful performances as tough guys and anti‑heroes. Deputies who responded to a 911 call pronounced him dead on the scene.
These past two years saw Madsen passionately working on independent films like Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and preparing to release his first poetry collection, Tears for My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems.
A trusted Quentin Tarantino collaborator, Madsen delivered unforgettable roles in Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 2, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He is survived by five children his eldest son, Hudson, tragically passed away in 2022.
