 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. UPDATE ON SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN AHOADA EAST ADMINISTRATOR ASSAULT


The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the public that the suspects, Mr. Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Mr. Aloni Olodi, Chief Of Staff (COS), respectively who were hitherto declared wanted on 6th. July, 2025 in connection with the alleged Criminal Conspiracy/Stealing/ Assault Occasioning Harm on the Ahoada East Sole Administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor have presented themselves to the Rivers State Police Command at Moscow Road Port-Harcourt, today the 10th. of July, 2025 at about 1500hrs.


They were subsequently interviewed by the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command and his Management Team.

Following the preliminary interview, they were further handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, In-Charge of State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for further investigation.


The Police Command urges anyone with useful information that can assist in the ongoing investigation to come forward. The Commissioner of Police, noted that the public's cooperation and assistance are invaluable in ensuring that justice is served.


The Command remains committed to maintaining law and order in Rivers State and assures the public that the investigation will be thorough and transparent.
