 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Bye-election: APGA’s Mimi Azikiwe beats ADC for Onitsha North constituency


The candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Mimi Azikiwe, has reportedly been declared winner of the just concluded Onitsha North Constituency 1 by-election.


According to The Whistler, Azikiwe recorded a landslide victory, garnering 7,774 votes to defeat his opponents from other parties.


She defeated candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC Justina Azuka, the wife of Justice Azuka who was abducted and killed by armed men in 2024.


The seat in the State House of Assembly

became vacant after Azuka, who was a member of the Labour Party was killed by the daredevil kidnappers.


Professor Ebien, the returning officer for the election declared Azikiwe the winner.


The All Progressive Congress, APC, came third in the election with 1,371 votes.
