 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  CIG to partner GUCCAD to bring back 300 Africans in diaspora to invest in Nigeria 




Over 300 black Africans in diaspora will be in Nigeria come October 2025, to invest in Nigeria in a 14 -day epoch making event that will see them tour Lagos and Calabar, Cross River State.



This ground breaking event was revealed by  Amb. Felix Duke, the President of Creative Industry Group, following a letter to the group by Global United Christians Congress of Africa and the Diaspora, GUCCAD, seeking for effective collaboration  in their 2025 home coming and reconciliation visit to Nigeria. 


 Amb. Duke while responding to the letter sent through GUCCAD 's Planning Committee, said, he was deeply touched by the trust placed on CIG by GUCCAD. Adding that CIG, is ready to work with them in this significant journey of home coming by 'our brothers and sisters'  



His words "We are fully committed to handling all necessary logistics including transportation, hospitality, security, and full immersion in Nigeria's vibrant artistic and heritage landscape.


"Through our vast network across entertainment, media, tourism and government sector , we will ensure this visit receives maximum visibility, official goodwill and national relevance.



"Therefore, we kindly request that a dedicated day within the itinerary be hosted in Lagos, to allow us welcome the 

delegation on home soil. Lagos stands not only as Nigeria’s commercial nerve center but also as the  heart beat of the creative and cultural industries. We will be honored to host your delegation to a welcome reception and cultural experience that will set a resounding tone for the rest of the journey", the CIG boss said.



He also noted that CIG in line with GUCCAD 's request, is ready to facilitate media coverage across national and internationals platforms. Connect the delegation with stakeholders in the Nigerian entertainment and creative 

sectors.and other sectors of the Economy


Coordinate with relevant government institutions on the conferment of recognition and honorary citizenship for participating returnees. Collaborate on the low-budget film project, set for 2026, including local casting, location support, and promotional partnerships.


Then participate  and support the efforts for the homecoming event, with clear mutual terms as proposed.




The 14- day home coming events will kick off on the 10th of October to 22, 2025 and the team is expected to touch both Lagos State and Calabar, Cross River State capital.



It is estimated that about three hundred sons and daughters of Africa in the Diaspora representing Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, St Maarten, Belize, among other Caribbean islands and African Americans will be visiting Lagos and Calabar, on this occasion.



"To this end, GUCCAD Arts and Entertainment arm requests the endorsement and collaboration of the Creative Industry Group (CIG) in Nigeria in the hosting of GUCCAD 2025 Homecoming and reconciliation in Lagos and Calabar for the stated period. 


"We further request the collaboration of CIG to join hands with and represent GUCCAD Arts  and Entertainment Arm, for the Homecoming 2025 event as well as participate as a partner in the upcoming low-budget movie scheduled to premiere in the Caribbean and Nigeria in 2026.
