 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Five people lost their lives on the N1 Ysterberg mountain 


A devastating head-on collision between two sedans on the N1 Ysterberg mountain in Polokwane Municipality, Capricorn District, has claimed the lives of five people in the early hours of Saturday, August 30, 2025. The tragic incident has left four victims burned beyond recognition, while two others, including a driver and a passenger, survived the crash with injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.


According to preliminary reports, one of the vehicles attempted to overtake, and recklessness can not be ruled out as a possible cause of the accident. The South African Police Service (SAPS) is currently investigating the matter.


The Department of Transport has also expressed deep concern over the resurgence of accidents in the area, particularly during early and late hours when visibility is poor.
