 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has revealed that he does not fight dirty and that he does not go into gutters with critics or opponents.


Governor Makinde stated this after the South-West zoning consultative summit of the PDP held in Lagos in Thursday.


“Personally, when people go low or go into the gutters, I don’t go with them," he said. "Some people are now going into the gutters. We will reach out to them. That is democracy.


“I can disagree with people, but there shouldn’t be anything personal here. It should be about what we are giving to Nigerians because they are watching.”
