 EFCC Arraigns Man  for  Alleged ₦55m Fraud in Lagos The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 arraigned one Gabriel Celestine Nwawuzor, before Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos for ₦55m fraud. Nwawuzor was arraigned alongside Moonlink Pharmaceuticals Limited, on a 3-count charge bordering on fraud and money laundering to the tune of N55,000,000 (Fifty Five Million Naira) One of the counts reads: "That you Gabriel Celestine Nwawuzor and Moonlink Pharmaceuticals Limited sometime in April, 2021, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court procured the account number 2170235882 domiciled in Zenith Bank to retain the sum of N55, 000, 000.00 ( Fifty Five Million Naira) which sum you knew forms part of the proceeds of your unlawful act and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Sections 21(a), 18(2)(d) of the of Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibitio...

 Pavitra Rishta Actress Priya Marathe Passes Away at 38 After Battle With Cancer


Indian television and film industry is mourning the untimely loss of Priya Marathe, best remembered for her role as Varsha Satish in Zee TV’s iconic serial Pavitra Rishta. The actress passed away in Mumbai on August 31, 2025, at the age of 38, after a year-long battle with cancer.


Born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai, Priya Marathe pursued her education in the city before stepping into the world of acting. She made her television debut with the Marathi serial Ya Sukhanoya and later gained recognition in Char Divas Sasuche. Her versatility soon opened doors in Hindi television, where she featured in popular shows such as Kasamh Se (as Vidya Bali), Bade Acche Lagte Hain (as Jyoti Malhotra), and the comedy reality show Comedy Circus.


Her most memorable performance came in Pavitra Rishta, where her portrayal of Varsha Satish won the hearts of millions. She was also seen in Tu Tithe Me, Bhaage Re Mann, Jayastute, and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap.


Apart from television, Priya ventured into films, appearing in the 2008 Hindi movie Humne Jeena Seekh Liya and later in Govind Nihalani’s Marathi film Ti Ani Itar, alongside acclaimed actors like Sonali Kulkarni, Amruta Subhash, and Subodh Bhave.


In her personal life, Priya married actor Shantanu Moghe in 2012. Known for her warm personality, dedication, and powerful screen presence, she was admired deeply by her colleagues and loved by fans.


Her passing is a profound loss to the entertainment fraternity. Tributes have already begun pouring in from co-stars and admirers on social media, remembering her as a talented, graceful, and versatile performer who brought depth and authenticity to every character she played.


Priya Marathe’s journey from Marathi television to national fame stands as a testament to her talent and perseverance. Though gone too soon, her legacy will continue to inspire and live on through the memorable roles she brought to life.
