  Chikun/Kajuru Rep, Hon. Fidelix Bagudu, Announces New Appointments To Strengthen Inclusive Governance The Honourable Member representing the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Fidelix Joseph Bagudu, has announced a wide-ranging list of new appointments aimed at deepening inclusive governance and enhancing representation across the constituency. The appointments, which take immediate effect, were unveiled in alignment with Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani’s commitment to participatory governance. According to the lawmaker’s office, the list reflects deliberate efforts to ensure fair representation of all wards, communities, and interest groups across Chikun and Kajuru Local Government Areas (LGAs). A statement issued by the Media and Publicity Directorate noted that the move also fulfills the Honourable Member’s campaign pledge to integrate every segment of the constituency into the decision-making and governance structure.  Tragic Stabbing at University of Venda Leaves First-Year Student Dead, Boyfriend in Custody


In a shocking incident that has rocked the University of Venda (Univen) community, a first-year female student was stabbed to death in an off-campus residence, allegedly by her boyfriend, another student at the institution. 


The 20-year-old victim, who was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in language practice, was found with multiple stab wounds to her upper body. The suspect, a 20-year-old second-year Bachelor of Environmental Sciences student, was arrested for murder and is currently under police guard in a medical facility after injuring himself while attempting to flee.


According to eyewitness accounts and university statements, the couple entered their shared residence in good spirits on Friday afternoon, showing no visible signs of distress or conflict. 


However, just minutes later, screams and loud noises emanated from their locked room, alerting nearby residents and prompting a swift response from campus security. Upon forcing entry into the room, security personnel discovered the young woman lying in a pool of blood, unresponsive and later declared dead at the scene. Two knives believed to have been used in the attack were recovered from the room.


In a desperate bid to escape, the suspect reportedly jumped from the second floor of the building, sustaining injuries in the process. He was immediately apprehended by authorities and taken into custody.
