 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Uke Monarch Celebrates New Yam In Grand Style,Endorses Soludo's Second Term In Office

The Uke Town went agog with excitement as its charismatic traditional ruler, HRH Igwe Charles Chuma Agballah celebrated his new yam festival which showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Uke People.


Performing the solemn rituals at his Uke Palace,Igwe Agballah spoke of the imperatives of the celebration celebrating Yam as king of all crops.


The royal father showered his blessings to his subjects and acknowledged the gift of the new yam from the Almighty creator of the universe who has blessed the Uke land with bountiful harvest.


He used the forum to felicitate with Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his sound development accomplishments in all the 3 Senatorial Zones of the state.


According to him,his impactful leadership has endeared him to the Uke residents who have pledged their loyalty to his administration.


Igwe Agballah affirmed his unalloyed support to Governor Soludo and endorsed his re-election for a second term in office.


In a press statement during the occasion, the President General of Uke Town Union, Chief Peter Onyejegbu felicitated with Igwe Agballah on his successful new yam festival which showcased the community's rich cultural heritage.


Chief Onyejegbu commended Governor Soludo for his good governance which touched all sectors of the economy and the 3 Senatorial Zones of the state.


The President General acknowledged government's presence in the community and urged for the rehabilitation of all its vital roads.


On his part, the Chairman Ezema Community in Uke, Chief Macaulay Onwura Ilongwo led a delegation of his community members to pay their homage to Igwe Agballah and used the occasion to wish him the best on his throne.


Chief Ilongwo further used the forum to appreciate Governor Soludo for his development efforts in the state and expects all well meaning Anambra residents and the Uke people to support his re-election for a second term in office.


Highlights during the occasion were some cultural dances and masquerades displays.


The occasion also featured visitations by some first class traditional rulers in the state such as the traditional ruler of Obeledu, Igwe Augustine Oragwam, among others.
