 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  ACCOUNTANT FOUND DEAD IN CAR IN ABUJA

An accountant with the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Kasham Thomas, was on Monday found dead inside her car in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja.


Her body, which bore stab wounds to the chest and stomach, was discovered along 35 Road. Police recovered a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, and an Apple Watch from the vehicle.


Officers from the Gwarinpa Division evacuated the body to Kubwa General Hospital after notifying her family.


Relatives said Ms. Thomas had earlier visited Karshi to pick up her children ahead of school resumption. She reportedly dropped them off at her home in Lugbe before leaving again later in the evening.


The case adds to recent incidents of violent crime in the FCT. Last week, a Bolt driver was found dead with a stab wound on the Gwarinpa–Kubwa Expressway, while another unidentified body was discovered in a car at the National Assembly complex.


Police have confirmed the incident and opened an investigation.
