  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Anambra poll: Soludo confirms zoning of governorship seat


The Anambra State governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has announced that the zoning of the governor’s seat among the state’s three senatorial districts has been officially institutionalised and should be upheld for future elections.

Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election, stated this in Abatete, on Saturday, during an endorsement rally for his candidacy and the homecoming event for a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ifeanyi Ibezi, who recently joined the APGA.

According to a Sunday statement released by the governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo explained that the Southern senatorial zone, which he represents, currently holds the governor’s position after the Northern district maintained power for eight years.

The governor welcomed Ibezi back into APGA, reassuring his supporters that APGA serves as the umbrella for all progressives in Anambra.

He said, “Following this term, the Central Senatorial district will have the opportunity to govern for the next eight years.”

Welcoming Ibezi back to APGA, Soludo said, “APGA serves as the umbrella for all progressives in Anambra. In fact, Anambra is synonymous with APGA, and APGA is synonymous with Anambra.

“Our campaign has evolved into a grassroots movement, with communities actively taking ownership by organising endorsement rallies at their own expense.

“We are going round the state welcoming major people back into the fold. APGA has never been more United and stronger than it is today.”

Expressing confidence in a resounding victory for APGA across the state’s 5,720 polling units and 326 political wards, the governor addressed the longstanding electoral challenge in Idemili North LGA, which has the highest number of voters, yet consistently produces low turnout.

He urged the community to demonstrate its voting strength and break the paradox in the upcoming November 8 elections and assured them of ongoing developments as Anambra continues to rise.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the state government, Solo Chukwulobelu, highlighted some of Soludo’s initiatives in Idemili, including the construction of two smart schools, the recruitment of teachers, among others, expressing optimism for an APGA victory.

APGA’s National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, and State Chairman, Ifeatu Obiokoye, welcomed Ibezi back into the party, expressing their satisfaction with his return.

Others, including the Commissioner for Works, Ifeanyi Okoma, Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, Nelson Omenugha, Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Stanley Nkwoka, Chairman of Idemili South, Amaka Obi, Okey Muoaro, and Tony Onyima, all assured the governor of their unwavering support for his reelection bid and victory in the region.

The event also featured a presentation of a N20 million cheque to support the governor’s campaign.
