 Trump announces Hamas disarmament and Israeli troop withdrawal agreement under Gaza ceasefire plan   President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Hamas has agreed to a plan to disarm and that Israel will withdraw its forces from Gaza as part of a U.S.-backed ceasefire framework. Trump described the agreement as a major step toward creating a new Palestinian government in Gaza that would work with the newly established Board of Peace to oversee the next stages of the plan. The president said the agreement would also provide Israel with increased security by preventing Gaza from being used as a launching point for future attacks. Details of the agreement were limited, and neither Israel nor Hamas immediately released statements responding to Trump’s announcement. The Board of Peace said Hamas had agreed to a roadmap for moving forward with the next phases of the ceasefire after months of negotiations.  Fireworks fatally injure 13-year-old boy in head

A 13-year-old boy in Oklahoma died on Labor Day after being struck in the head by a firework.

The incident occurred Monday evening at Sandy Park Apartments in West Tulsa, near West 11th Place and South 61st West Avenue. Witnesses said a group of boys were setting off fireworks, some of which ignited a small patch of grass at the south edge of the property.

Police reported that the boy was holding a mortar-style firework with the tube facing his head when it ignited. Emergency responders from the Tulsa Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, and the teen was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

A 2022 survey of more than 2,000 parents of children ages 3-18 found that many fail to take adequate precautions to prevent firework injuries. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that firework-related injuries and deaths in the U.S. had risen roughly 25% over the 15 years leading up to 2022.
