 ANAMBRA POLICE ACTION ON THE CULT CLASH THAT RESULTED IN THE FATAL INJURY OF FOUR PERSONS AT AFOR NAWFIA MARKET The Anambra State Police Command wishes to provide a comprehensive update on the cult-related attack that occurred on the evening of 7th December 2025 at Afor Nawfia Market, along the Onitsha–Awka Old Road. It will be recalled that operatives of the Command attached to the Special Anti-Cult Squad, Enugwu-Ukwu, had, four days earlier, acting on credible intelligence about a planned rival cult confrontation, arrested two dangerous suspects and recovered a firearm from them. The arrested suspects have been assisting the Police with valuable information aimed at preventing further cult-related violence within Awka and its environs.  Group Pays Working Visit to Anambra Commissioner For Industry, Seeks Government Support

The Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu has received members of The Pivot in his office; a platform that nurtures visionary thinking, bold discourse, and collaborative action towards building a just and prosperous society.


The group, led by Barr. Ifedi Nwosu, was in the commissioner’s office on a working visit also to seek partnership and the state government support for its upcoming summit.


They appealed for sponsorship opportunities and a review of the International Conference Centre rates to enable them to use the facility in hosting their programme.


While addressing the visitors, Commissioner Udechukwu assured them of the state government’s readiness to continue supporting ideas that would foster innovation, industrial growth and economic prosperity across the state.


He emphasized that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and youth-led initiatives to thrive, as they are critical to achieving a productive, livable, and prosperous homeland.


Speaking, the leader of The Pivot, Barr. Nwosu reiterated their vision of gathering progressive voices across Africa to drive sustainable change through deep reflection and deliberate action.


The visit ended with both parties agreeing to explore avenues of collaboration that would enhance industrial development and youth empowerment in the state.
