The House of Representatives committee on public service matters has commiserated with the National Assembly Service Commission over the death of its staff, Mr Titus Apollos.
During an oversight to the Commission, the committee led by the Chairman Sani Umar Bala, and management observed a minute silence in his honor and prayers offered for the repose of his soul.
In a statement, the Deputy Director Information of the Commission Emmanuel anyigbor says that the executive chairman of the Commission Saviour Enyiekere had in addition to higlighting some challenges of the commission briefed the committee on the demise of Mr Appolos, who he said has been receiving treatment at Garki General Hospital at the expense of the Commission.
The deceased was said to have visited the office on Tuesday this week from the hospital, to solicit for further financial assistance, which was not readily available, and he unfortunately died next day.
Dr Enyiekere highlighted to the committee, some critical challenges facing the Commission including inadequate office accommodation, inadequate funds for staff welfare concerns among others.
He appealed for the intervention of the committee towards expedited completion of the permanent office complex.
