Karen Huger, Real Housewives of Potomac star, freed from prison following DUI conviction

Karen Huger, star of "Real Housewives of Potomac," was released from prison Tuesday morning after serving time for a DUI conviction, according to the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.

The 62-year-old completed a one-year sentence at the Montgomery County Detention Center in Maryland. Huger had been sentenced to two years in prison, with one year suspended, for driving under the influence and related charges stemming from a March 19, 2024, solo crash near Oaklyn Drive in Potomac. No one was hurt in the incident. Along with her prison term, she was fined $2,900 and placed on five years of probation. She admitted fault in court, expressing relief that no one was injured. Under the terms of her sentence, Huger is barred from driving for a year and could face prison again if she violates probation.

Fans and fellow reality stars reacted to Huger’s release on social media. Supporters celebrated her homecoming, while some criticized the sentence as too lenient. Speculation also surfaced about whether she will return for season 10 of "RHOP," which premieres on Oct. 5, and possibly appear on the season reunion.
