 ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTED PRODUCERS OF ADULTERATED ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, RECOVERS COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad/VCRU have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the production and distribution of adulterated alcoholic beverages in the State. The suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Okeke 42 years old and Okeke Chukwuemeka 38 years old were arrested in the early hours of today 15th June 2026,  following credible intelligence received by the Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a syndicate specializing in the adulteration and counterfeiting of various alcoholic beverages. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and subsequently led operatives to their mini-factory. At the facility, Police operatives recovered several suspected adulterated alcoholic products, including Seaman’s Schnapps, McDowell’s, Eagle Schnapps, ...

 Lekki Gardens worker nabbed, arraigned for alleged theft of N500,000 cables


The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a staff member of Lekki Gardens Estate Limited, Tairu Damilola, for allegedly stealing copper cable wires valued at N500,000 belonging to his employer.

According to the police, the incident occurred on 27 August 2025 at the company’s premises in Osborne Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi.

Damilola was allegedly caught while attempting to leave the estate with a bag containing the stolen cables.

Security guards on duty reportedly stopped him for a search, discovered the items, and immediately alerted the Dolphin Estate Police Division.

Following investigations led by Inspector Adeyi Onyenche and his team, the 32-year-old suspect, who resides on Oladipupo Oladimeji Street, Okearo, Ogun State, was charged before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court sitting at Tinubu, Lagos Island.

Prosecution counsel Reuben Solomon told the court that the defendant betrayed the trust of his employer by attempting to steal company property.

He noted that the alleged offence contravenes Section 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015, which prescribes penalties for stealing.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. Presiding magistrate, Mrs N. Oseni Wahab, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She ordered that he be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

The case was adjourned to a later date for further mention.
