 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  NEWBORN DUMPED IN AKWANGA BUSH FOUND ALIVE, MOTHER ARRESTED

A community in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, was thrown into shock on Wednesday after residents discovered a newborn baby girl abandoned in a bush near Hope Academy Primary School in the A. A. Koto area.


Wrapped in a cloth and left to fate, the tiny girl was found still alive and rescued by passersby, who immediately handed her over to the police.


Investigations revealed that her mother, a final-year NCE student of the College of Education, Akwanga, had dumped the child. She was later traced and arrested with the help of friends and schoolmates.


The heartbreaking incident has stirred anger and sorrow among residents, many of whom described the baby’s survival as nothing short of a miracle. They also decried the growing trend of newborn abandonment, blaming it on economic hardship and social pressures.
