 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. POST-NBA CONFERENCE: CP GIWA HAILS SECURITY SUCCESS, APPRECIATES IGP, THANKS ENUGU GOV


The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has hailed the resounding security success recorded during the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual Conference in Enugu. He credited the feat to the professionalism and dedication of officers and men of the Command.


The commendation came during a post-conference debriefing with key supervisory officers. The Commissioner described their efforts as exemplary, stressing that their discipline and synergy with sister security agencies ensured the high-profile event was held without any breach of peace.


CP Giwa appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his guidance and support, which greatly enhanced the success of the operations. He also thanked the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his unwavering backing of security efforts, and commended sister security agencies for their effective collaboration throughout the Conference.


The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining professionalism and proactiveness in protecting lives and property, while urging residents to remain law-abiding and continue to support the Police with timely and credible information.
