 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Police Probe Murder, Kidnapping and Attempted Murder in Mnyangani Village


Giyani police in the Mopani district are investigating cases of murder, kidnapping, and attempted murder that took place at Mnyangani village on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.


Police members responded to a complaint of murder and, upon arrival, found the lifeless body of a man lying in a pool of blood behind a house with multiple gunshot wounds.


Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been at home with two unknown men when two armed suspects stormed into the yard, opened fire, and fled in an unknown vehicle.


One victim, identified as Themba Shivuri of Mnyangani, was certified dead at the scene by emergency personnel. A second victim was rushed to hospital for treatment, while the whereabouts of the third man remain unknown.


The motive for the attack is still unclear. Police are appealing to community members with any information that could assist in the investigation to contact Detective Warrant Officer Moses Menyuku at 082 729 0343.
