 Brazil’s former president Bolsonaro hospitalized in intensive care with pneumonia, officials say   Brazil’s former President Jair Bolsonaro is being treated in an intensive care unit in Brasilia after developing pneumonia, hospital officials said Friday. Doctors described the 70-year-old’s condition as serious, warning that pneumonia in older patients can progress to septicemia if bacteria enter the bloodstream. Bolsonaro was transferred from prison after experiencing high fever, chills, vomiting, and low oxygen levels, his eldest son, Flávio Bolsonaro, said on X. The hospital confirmed bronchopneumonia, likely caused by aspiration, and said he is receiving intravenous antibiotics and non-invasive support. Bolsonaro is serving a 27-year sentence for attempting a coup following his 2022 election defeat, and hospital staff noted it is unlikely he will return to prison in the coming days due to the need for ongoing IV treatment. “This country will steadily embarrass you’’’- Tobi Amusan laments inferior kits provided to team Nigeria ahead of World Athletics championship


With just few hours to the kick-off of the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, former world champion and women’s 100m hurdles record holder, Tobi Amusan, has criticized the Nigerian government over the kit provided for herself and other athletes representing the country at the championship.


Amusan voiced her concerns over what she perceived as unprofessionalism and lack of coordination within the federation.


In a video she shared on her Snapchat, Amusan could said unlike other countries that provide their contingents with kits in suitcases, the Nigerian government hands them their own kits in nylon bags with little or nothing significant inside it. 


‘’This country will steadily embarass you. Una come say make people nor switch allegiance? Una never ready. No singlets. Nothing!’’ she said


She further stated that although the Jamaican authorities are also lagging behind with regards providing for their contingents, they are not as worse as their Nigerian counterpart.
