 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  1,375 Beneficiaries Of 1 Youth 2 Skills Plus Initiative In Awka South Receive Cash Grants


Over 1,375 beneficiaries of the second phase of the Anambra State Government’s 1 Youth 2 Skills Plus initiative in Awka South Local Government Area have received cheques of their startup grants disbursed under the programme.


Governor Chukwuma Soludo had announced the approval of a N3.5 billion start up grant for the over 8,300 beneficiaries of the programme during their graduation last month. 


The disbursement of the cheques was coordinated by the Special Assistant to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Development, Mr. Emeka Omata. 


The 1 Youth 2 Skills Plus Solution Initiative focuses on building capacities in agriculture, ICT, fashion, crafts, catering and other vocational sectors to promote self-reliance and innovation among young people.


It also provides access to additional financial support through the Anambra Small Business Agency for beneficiaries interested in expanding their ventures in clusters.


Among the beneficiaries were Chimaoge Enekwechi from Nise, Antonia Onyemobi from Imo State, and Chisom Onyekwuba, who have utilized the programme to establish businesses and create employment opportunities for others.


The 1 Youth 2 Skills Plus scheme continues to empower youths across the state towards productive and sustainable livelihoods in line with the Soludo administration’s human capital development agenda.
