755 HOUSEHOLD AFFECTED BY FLOOD IN POTISKUM, YOBE STATE RECEIVE FOOD ITEMS AND DIGNITY KITS . (PHOTOS).


 755 Household Affected By  Flood In Potiskum, YOBE State Receive Food Items And Dignity Kits 


In a bid to support the recovery of households affected by flooding in Potiskum Local Government Area, Yobe state  Governor Mai Mala Buni  continued to mobilize resources to meet critical needs.  Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), in partnership with CARE Nigeria, has launched another distribution of food baskets and dignity kits to help families rebuild their lives.


A total of 755 Households, drawn from 13 communities across 5 wards, benefited the over 100,000,000.00 Million Naira Worth of items distributed.


Each household receives the following package: 50kg of Rice, 25kg of Beans, 5 Litre Vegetable oil, and Salt. 

Additionally 125 women headed HH recieved diginity kits


This aimed at supporting families with immediate food needs and in  addition, 125 dignity kits were provided to further support the most vulnerable groups, especially women and girls.


The Executive Secretary of SEMA, Dr. Goje Mohammed said the agency is committed to ensuring that no affected community is left behind.


He encouraged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the items for the wellbeing of their families, noting that the intervention is not only about food but also about restoring hope, dignity, and resilience to those impacted by the disaster.


This distribution exercise is part of SEMA’s wider humanitarian response strategy, which combines emergency food aid, non-food  support, and resilience-building initiatives to help flood-affected households recover and return to normal life.
