Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial.  BENUE BEGINS SCREENING FOR 2011/2012 DISENGAGED STAFF

12th October, 2025

The Benue State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) has announced a screening exercise for staff employed in 2011 and 2012 but later removed from the government payroll.

In a circular dated October 10, 2025, and marked SECRET, the Commission directed all Local Government Chairmen across the state to mobilize affected staff for the exercise, which is scheduled to hold between October 20 and November 1, 2025.

The circular, signed by the Director of Administration and Finance, Owoicho Odeh, on behalf of the Commission’s Chairman, stated that the screening will cover only staff whose names appear on the approved list, emphasizing that no cases outside the approvals will be entertained.

“Concerned staff are to note and avail themselves for the screening. Staff are therefore enjoined to abide strictly by the timetable to ensure a seamless exercise,” the circular stated.

The timetable shows that the screening will take place at the LGSC Headquarters in Makurdi and other designated venues from October 20 to October 29, 2025, covering all 23 Local Government Areas. A mop-up exercise is also scheduled for October 30 to November 1, 2025, for Zones A, B, and C.

The Commission outlined several requirements for the screening, including:

1. First appointment letter

2. Confirmation letter (if confirmed)

3. Last promotion letter

4. Local government of origin certificate

5. Birth certificate or declaration of age

6. All academic qualifications

7. Any valid ID card

8. Account number

9. BVN

10. Bank name

11. NIN

The LGSC noted that the exercise aims to verify the authenticity of employment records and reinstate genuine workers who were wrongly disengaged from the payroll.

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Chairmen in all LGAs have been directed to assist in mobilizing the affected staff for the screening.
