 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  LaMelo Ball fined $35,000 for making obscene gesture at referee

The NBA has fined LaMelo Ball $35,000 for making an obscene gesture toward a referee during the Hornets’ matchup against the Miami Heat this week.

The incident occurred in the final minutes at Kaseya Center, when Ball, frustrated after being called for an offensive foul, raised his middle finger and received a technical foul. Earlier in the game, he also accidentally kicked the ball into opponent Davion Mitchell’s face.

Despite Ball leading Charlotte with 20 points, the Hornets fell 144-117 to Miami and currently hold a 2-2 record this season. Over six years with the team, the former Rookie of the Year has averaged 21.1 points per game, though the franchise has yet to return to the playoffs since 2015-16.
