 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Munich Oktoberfest shuts down following bomb threat and fatal blast, police say

Police in Munich announced that the city’s famous Oktoberfest would remain closed until Wednesday afternoon following a bomb threat tied to a deadly residential fire in northern Munich.

Authorities said the festival grounds at Theresienwiese, west of the city center, would stay shut until 5 p.m. while officials assessed the threat. Police confirmed that a letter from the perpetrator linked the bomb threat to the fire, and further action would be determined later in the day.

The fire broke out at a residential building in the Lerchenau neighborhood on Wednesday morning, claiming one life. Responding officers and firefighters reported hearing “loud bangs” and described the building as a “burning residential structure.”

Police said the fire appeared to have been deliberately set during a family dispute. One person remains missing but is not considered a threat. Investigators later found explosive devices inside the building, prompting special forces to be called in to safely defuse them.
