 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week.  PVAC Targets Local Manufacturing To Reduce Cancer Treatment Costs


The National Coordinator of the Presidential Initiative on Unlocking Healthcare Value Chain (PVAC), Dr. Abdu Mukhtar, has attributed the high cost of cancer care and treatment in Nigeria to the country’s reliance on imported medical products. Dr. Mukhtar made this statement at a conference marking International Cancer Week in Abuja.


According to him, the administration recognizes the importance of local manufacturing of medical products, drugs, and commodities in making cancer care more affordable and accessible. To achieve this, PVAC is pursuing partnerships for local production of cancer drugs and generics, and facilitating technology transfer between technology owners and local partners.


Among the conference keynote speakers was Professor Usman Malami Aliyu, Director-General/CEO of the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment, NICRAT. Discussions highlighted gaps in multidisciplinary standards of care across surgical, radiotherapy, and medical oncology departments.


The event focused on addressing healthcare challenges—particularly in multidisciplinary care delivery—and emphasized the need for improved standards of care across different medical specialties.


This year’s International Cancer Week theme is “Redefining the Future of Cancer: Prevention, Access, and Equity for All.”

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
