 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Senator Katung Condemns Attack On Zonkwa Police Division, Mourns Fallen Officers


The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, has condemned in strong terms the recent attack on the Zonkwa Police Division, headquarters of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, which led to the death of two police officers.


In a statement issued on Sunday, Senator Katung described the assault as wicked, barbaric, and reprehensible, stressing that such criminal acts against security agencies must be condemned by all well-meaning Nigerians.


“Most disturbing is the dangerous affront on the lives of our police officers and security personnel who, day after day, endure the most difficult and excruciating circumstances in their commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians,” the Senator said.


Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Senator Katung called on security agencies to deploy all available resources to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice without delay.


He extended his condolences to the families of the slain officers and the entire Nigeria Police Force, praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones to bear the loss.


“My deepest condolences go to the families of the deceased officers, as well as to the entire Police Force. I pray that God grants the departed officers eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.


The lawmaker also appealed to residents of Zonkwa and surrounding communities to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security personnel as efforts intensify to track down those responsible.
