 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Trump to hold bilateral meeting with China’s Xi next Thursday 

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Thursday that President Donald Trump will embark on a multi-nation trip to Asia beginning Friday night, with a key meeting scheduled with Chinese President Xi Jinping next Thursday. The two leaders are set to meet in Busan, South Korea, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit, where they are expected to discuss trade and regional security. The meeting follows Trump’s recent announcement of sweeping 100% tariffs on Chinese imports, a move that has heightened tensions between Washington and Beijing.

Trump’s Asia trip will include stops in Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea. He will depart the White House late Friday and arrive in Malaysia on Sunday morning local time, where he will meet with the Malaysian prime minister and attend the ASEAN leaders’ working dinner that evening. On Monday, Trump is scheduled to travel to Tokyo for talks with Japan’s new prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, before heading to Busan to meet with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. The visit will conclude with Trump’s bilateral meeting with Xi before returning to Washington. The Busan meeting marks the first in-person discussion between Trump and Xi since their last encounter at the G20 Summit in Osaka in 2019.
