CJN Bans Lawyers, Court Officials to Stop Using ‘Barrister’ as Official Title The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has directed lawyers, court officials and other legal personnel to discontinue the use of “Barrister” as a prefix to their names in all official engagements at the Supreme Court. The directive was contained in a memorandum dated July 13, 2026, and signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi. The circular, which was addressed to litigation staff, legal practitioners, court registrars and lawyers, stated that the directive took immediate effect and was aimed at upholding professional standards within the apex court.  Cause of death of KISS guitarist Ace Frehley revealed

Legendary KISS guitarist Ace Frehley died Thursday, Oct. 16, after his family decided to remove him from life support. The cause of death has now been confirmed as blunt trauma to the head resulting from a fall.

The Morris County, New Jersey Medical Examiner’s report states that Frehley suffered a skull fracture at the back of his head, a subdural hematoma—a collection of blood between the brain and its protective layer—and a stroke. His death was ruled accidental. The 74-year-old musician had undergone surgery to address the subdural hematoma following the fall, but the procedure was unsuccessful.

Frehley was a founding member of KISS, performing alongside Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss from 1973 to 1982 before leaving the band due to creative differences and struggles with substance abuse. Earlier this year, he had spoken optimistically about his recovery from a serious arm injury, joking that a psychic told him he would live to 100. Frehley is the first original member of KISS to pass away.
