Catholic Priests Not Like ‘Fake Bishops’, Atiku Blasts Presidency’s Attack On Onaiyekan Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the Presidency’s attack on the Catholic Church and John Cardinal Onaiyekan, accusing the President Bola Tinubu administration of growing intolerant of dissent and uncomfortable truths. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu on Sunday, Atiku said the Presidency chose intimidation and political attacks instead of reflecting on the substance of the cleric’s message. Catholic bishops had recently had an engagement with the president, where the latter defended his record and the independence of the electoral umpire. However, the cardinal in a television interview on Friday said the Catholic bishops told the president that the country is bleeding and the economy is not helping poor citizens. Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland passes away at 24


Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland has died at the age of 24, the team announced Thursday. No cause of death has been disclosed.

“Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers are with his girlfriend, Catalina, and his family,” the Cowboys said in a statement. Kneeland’s agent, Jonathan Perzley, confirmed he passed away on Wednesday night. “I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan to a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys. Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field,” Perzley said.

Kneeland, a second-round draft pick last year, played in 18 games and scored his only career touchdown in Monday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals after recovering a blocked punt. The NFL said it is in contact with the Cowboys and is offering counseling resources to teammates and coaches.
