 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Deer crashes through middle school cafeteria window during breakfast

A deer burst through a large window at Amherst Junior High School early Thursday morning, landing in the cafeteria as students and staff were preparing for breakfast, officials said. Principal Andrew Hoffman described the incident as “a fairly significant issue” but confirmed that no one was seriously injured.

Staff and Amherst police quickly contained the animal, guiding it onto the stage before safely funneling it out the back door. Hoffman noted that the school nurse was on hand to assist any students who needed support. Despite the surprise, breakfast was offered during the first period, and the district praised students and staff for remaining calm during the unexpected event.
