 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Rt Hon Dr Chukwuma Pius Okoye, Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has expressed strong appreciation and support following today’s plenary session, where His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill themed Changing Gear 3.0, Solution Continues.


In his address, the Deputy Speaker described the budget presentation as a clear demonstration of renewed commitment to progress, accountability, and purposeful development for Anambra State. He commended Governor Soludo for consistently placing the welfare of Ndi Anambra at the forefront of his leadership, noting that the Governor’s achievements across the state continue to speak for themselves and strengthen public confidence.


Rt Hon Okoye remarked that the vision embedded in the 2026 budget offers hope for deeper transformation in the coming year. He highlighted that under the Governor’s guidance, Anambra is advancing steadily with clear direction, measurable results, and policies driven by dedication, innovation, and sincerity.


According to him, the 2026 budget signals stronger momentum for the Solution agenda and reinforces the state’s path toward sustained growth and renewed optimism.
