 OWNERS CRY OUT AS THIEVES STEAL TOYOTA COROLLA IN MAKURDI  28th January, 2026      The owners of a Toyota Corolla have raised the alarm over the theft of their vehicle in Makurdi, Benue State. The car, a blue Toyota Corolla (Model X), 2003 model, with registration number MKD 188 DW, was reportedly stolen on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m. at Food Domain, along Old Otukpo Road. According to the owners, the incident was discovered shortly after the vehicle was parked at the location. They have since appealed to members of the public to assist with information that could lead to the recovery of the car. They also called on residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies in efforts to track down the stolen vehicle.

 HBO renews House of the Dragon for fourth season

HBO has renewed the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, for a fourth season, even before the third season premieres this summer. Season 4 is scheduled to air in 2028. The announcement was made on Thursday by HBO and HBO Max Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys during the network’s presentation in New York City. Alongside the renewal, HBO released new images from Season 3.

Showrunner Ryan Condal had previously indicated the series would conclude after four seasons, though the official release did not confirm this, leaving the end date uncertain. Sources indicate Condal is still writing Season 4, with the final decision on the series’ conclusion expected after that season wraps. During the presentation, Bloys also revealed an early renewal for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a second season ahead of its January 18 debut.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 200 years before Game of Thrones and chronicles the history of House Targaryen. Season 2, which concluded in August 2024, picks up after the death of Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys Velaryon at the hands of Aemond Targaryen, escalating tensions from a cold war to the fiery “Dance of the Dragons” civil war.

Season 3 features returning and new cast members including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim.

The series is co-created and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, who serves as showrunner. Executive producers also include Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
