Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

LASG DISTRIBUTES OVER 300 FOOD PACKS, VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTS TO PREGNANT WOMEN IN LAGOS

As part of its continuous efforts to promote maternal and child health across the State, the Lagos State Government, through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, has distributed over 300 food packs and vitamin supplements to indigent pregnant women across Lagos State Health District IV.

Speaking at the event, held recently at the Akerele Primary Healthcare Centre, Surulere, Lagos, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore said that the initiative underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to ensuring that pregnant women and their unborn children receive proper nutrition for healthy growth and development.

According to her, the Lagos State Government recognises that “to build a peaceful, progressive, and secure Lagos”, we must start by giving every child from conception to birth and through adulthood a fair chance to live, grow, and become responsible citizens.

She emphasised that civically responsible citizens are nurtured from the womb, adding that global studies affirm that the earliest events shaping a person’s life occur from conception to early childhood.

Engr. Shasore further revealed that since the inception of the programme, over 6,280 beneficiaries have been reached across the six health districts of Lagos State, reaffirming the government’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of mothers, infants, and children.

In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District IV, Dr Abimbola Bowale, described pregnancy as “a remarkable journey of hope, anticipation, and boundless love”. He noted that while the journey can be challenging, the government remains committed to giving mothers and their newborns a healthier start, recognising that the well-being of mothers is the backbone of strong families and a prosperous society.

He further added that the Mother, Infant and Child Development Programme is a bold, compassionate initiative conceptualised to boost neonatal brain development, support healthy pregnancies, and assist indigent expectant mothers across Lagos State.

The event featured the distribution of nutritious food packs, essential vitamins, and supplements aimed at promoting healthy pregnancies and reducing malnutrition among expectant mothers within the Surulere community.
