 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. Mother of BBN season 10 winner, Ìmísí, publicly debunks claims of sending her out at 12


A video shared on Instagram has captured the mother of Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi, addressing the claims her daughter made during and after the show about her childhood.


In the video, the mother expressed her shock over Imisi’s statement that she was sent out of the house at age 12. She said she had no memory of such an incident and insisted it never happened.


She explained that she also contacted her own mother — Imisi’s grandmother — as well as her sister, and said both of them confirmed they had no knowledge of any situation where Imisi was allegedly thrown out


The mother further reacted to Imisi’s claims of being raped while growing up. She stated that she had no idea when or how it happened and asked Imisi to publicly clarify the timeline.


She added that the statements made about her have caused people to insult and tag her as a bad mother whenever she goes out, noting that the backlash has been overwhelming.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
