Anne Schedeen, ALF star who played Kate Tanner, dies at 77 Anne Schedeen, best known for playing Kate Tanner on the NBC sitcom ALF, has died at the age of 77. Her family said she “passed peacefully” in a statement shared Sunday, adding that she died surrounded by the legacy of her life and work. A cause of death was not disclosed. In their tribute, her family described Schedeen as someone with “creative energy,” sharp humor, and a deep love for her family, storytelling, and rescue dogs. They remembered her as a strong presence in their lives, saying her memory would live on through her artwork, handmade creations, and “joie de vivre.” They also asked loved ones to honor her by supporting Habitat for Humanity in lieu of sending flowers. Her longtime agent confirmed her death and said she meant “the world” to both her family and her professional circle. President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I, on the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his forebears, which falls on November 16, 2025.

 

In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information & Strategy, "President joins the sons and daughters of Iwoland, as well as friends and associates of the influential monarch, in celebrating this special occasion.

 

President Tinubu notes the tremendous impact and progressive streaks of Oluwo in the past decade of his ascension to the throne.

 

The President particularly highlights Oluwo's unwavering commitment to Yoruba cultural heritage and revival.

 

"Like him or hate him, you can hardly ignore his dynamism and leadership and the fact that his people deeply love him.

 

"I congratulate Oba Telu on this milestone. My thoughts are with him and the people of this great city at this moment," the President remarks.

 

President Tinubu wishes Oba Akanbi many more years on the throne and a continued life of impact.
