Seven suspects linked to a business robbery at the Ice Cream Factory in the Polokwane CBD have been arrested following a swift intelligence-driven operation on Monday morning, 03 November 2025, at about 09:00. The arrests were made within an hour after the robbery, leading to the recovery of four firearms with live ammunition, stolen goods, and a white Audi S3 used during the commission of the crime.
According to police reports, the armed suspects stormed into the factory, threatened employees, and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of cash, various items, and cellphones before fleeing the scene.
Acting on a tip-off, police traced the suspects to a safe house in Zorra Section, Solomondale, under the Sebayeng policing area near Mankweng. A multidisciplinary team, comprising the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigation Unit, Capricorn District Detectives, Mankweng Task Team, Sebayeng Crime Prevention, and private security partners, swiftly moved in on the location.
Upon arrival, officers found the suspects consuming alcohol. One suspect opened fire and managed to escape, while six men aged between 28 and 52, all from Mamelodi in Gauteng, and a 34-year-old female homeowner were arrested.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the recovered Audi S3 had been used during the Polokwane robbery. Various stolen items were also recovered at the scene.
The suspects face charges of business robbery, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, and possession of stolen goods. They are expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 05 November 2025.
Police investigations continue to determine whether the group is linked to other business robberies in Limpopo, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga.
