 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. 1 killed, 3 in critical condition after Chicago mass shooting
A mass shooting in Chicago early Sunday left one man dead and three others critically injured.
Police reported the incident occurred around 2:35 a.m. in the River North neighborhood as a group of men were getting into a car. Four unidentified suspects reportedly approached on foot, brandished firearms, and opened fire.
A 34-year-old man was struck multiple times and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The three others, a 36-year-old man shot in the chest, a 43-year-old man shot in the back, and a 35-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, were all hospitalized in critical condition.
Authorities said the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived. Investigators are focusing on a green Porsche seen at the location, which was surrounded by evidence markers. No arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large.
