 No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

 Abia Government Confirms Attack on Governor’s Advance Team, Assures Public of Safety


The Abia State Government has officially confirmed that an advance security team attached to Governor Alex Chioma Otti was attacked by unidentified gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday, December 2, 2025, along the road leading to Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport in Imo State.


In a public service announcement issued this morning, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Citizen Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, stated that the incident occurred between Umuowa and Ihitte junction, shortly before the airport junction, while the three-man team was on official duty.


The government stressed that the main convoy of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, was not involved in the ambush and emphatically confirmed that no lives were lost in the attack.


“The general public is hereby informed that the convoy of Governor Otti was not involved in this attack, and no lives were lost during the unfortunate incident,” the statement read.


The announcement, personally signed by the Chief Press Secretary, sought to dispel rumours and calm public anxiety following reports of the incident.


The Abia State Government says it is working closely with security agencies in both Abia and Imo States, and further details will be made public as investigations progress. Residents have been urged to remain calm and vigilant while going about their lawful activities.
