 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Anambra Schools Shine as BBC Quiz Awards Cash Prizes and Trophies to Winners 


The 2025 BBC Anambra Mathematics and Igbo Language Quiz Competition concluded with the award of over ₦1 million in cash prizes and trophies to top students, teachers, and schools in Anambra State.


The competition was organized by the Best Brain Contest and took place at the ASUBEB Hall in Awka.


The 2025 BBC Anambra Mathematics and Igbo Language Quiz Competition has concluded with over ₦1 million in cash prizes awarded to outstanding students, teachers, and schools across Anambra State. The competition was organised by the Best Brain Contest and held at the ASUBEB Hall in Awka.


A total of 42 secondary schools participated in the contest, which was conducted in two stages. All schools first competed in a written examination, after which 10 schools in each category qualified for the oral quiz rounds in Mathematics and Igbo Language.


In the Igbo Language category, Ndubuilo Sommachukwu Rosemary of Loretho Special Science School, Adazinnukwu, emerged winner. She was followed by Ukwueze Chidera of St. Patrick’s College, Awka, and Ugochukwu Desmond of Christ the King College, Onitsha, who placed second and third respectively.


For Mathematics, Obieze Chikaima Stephanie of Unizik High School, Awka, clinched first place, while Onuzulike Chisimdi Daniel of St. Patrick’s College, Awka, and Ogbuagu Paul of All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha, finished second and third.


Each overall winner received ₦100,000, with an additional ₦100,000 awarded to their schools. Teachers of the champions were given ₦50,000 each, while teachers and students who placed second and third received ₦60,000 and ₦40,000 respectively. Trophies were also presented to the winning students and schools in recognition of their achievements.
