 OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA: TROOPS DESTROY TERRORIST HIDEOUTS AS OFFENSIVE OPERATIONS COMMENCE IN KATSINA STATE Troops of Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY) have commenced a deliberate offensive operation, code-named Operation CLEAN SWEEP III, targeting terrorist and bandit elements operating within Matazu Local Government Area and adjoining communities in Katsina State. The operation was launched following the unfortunate incident that led to the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was abducted alongside his wife by suspected terrorists and bandits in the area. The operation is aimed at locating and neutralizing the perpetrators of the heinous act, dismantling criminal networks and restoring security within the affected communities. FOREIGN NATIONAL ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION AND DEALING IN DRUGS AT SAVANNA MALL. (PHOTO).

 Foreign national arrested for possession and dealing in drugs at Savanna Mall


 Members of the Public Order Policing Unit in Polokwane arrested a 35-year-old male foreign national for possession and dealing in drugs at Savanna Mall on Tuesday, 09 December 2025.


 The arrest formed part of SAPS festive-season operations focusing on dismantling gangs and disrupting drug trafficking.


 Police acted on a tip-off about individuals allegedly selling drugs around one of the malls in Polokwane.


 Upon arrival, officers identified a suspect matching the description given.


 The suspect was found with a plastic bag containing drugs and attempted to flee towards his white Ford Fiesta with Gauteng registration plates.


 During the escape, he collided with a delivery bakkie belonging to a nearby shop and attempted to flee on foot.


 Police chased and quickly apprehended him.


 A search was conducted at his residence in Taurus Avenue, Sterpark, where Nyaope drugs were also recovered.


 Police confiscated Nyaope, crystal meth, and heroin.


 The suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 11 December 2025, facing charges of possession of and dealing in drugs.
