 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  FRESH BLOODSHED IN TARABA AS TIV-JUKUN CRISIS DISPLACES THOUSANDS

Fresh violence has erupted in the protracted Tiv–Jukun crisis in Taraba State, plunging several communities into fear and devastation. Killings, arson, and mass displacement have been reported as long-standing tension rooted in land ownership, political representation, and traditional authority, boil over once more.


Clashes have spread across Wukari, Ibi, Takum, Ussa, Donga, Gassol, and Bali local government areas, with new incidents recorded between 2024 and 2025. Thousands of Tiv families have reportedly fled their homes, abandoning farms and livelihoods, while women, children, and the elderly face deepening humanitarian hardship.


As the violence escalates, stakeholders are urging the Federal Government, the Taraba and Benue state governments, traditional rulers, and socio-cultural leaders to act decisively tighten security, ensure justice, and pursue sincere dialogue.


From the heart of the affected communities, one message rings out: the bloodshed must stop. Peace can no longer be postponed.
