 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. The star showcased a towering tree sparkling with lights, blush and gold ornaments, ribbons, and bows, filling her living room with a warm glow. Garlands adorned with golden accents and lights graced the stair railings and fireplace for added luxury.


The dining room boasted a sophisticated tablescape featuring pinecones, pink and maroon ribbons, red flowers, taper candles, coordinated glassware and candlesticks, plus mistletoe on the chandelier. Dressed in a shimmering maroon gown, Lopez raised a toast with loved ones around the beautifully arranged table, capturing holiday joy and elegance.

This followed her Christmas Eve family tradition of coordinating pink-and-white striped pajamas, including sweet photos with her child Emme and sister Lynda by the decorated tree.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
